Our Anniversay Trip & Lessons Learned

Tim and I got back from our 5th anniversary trip on Saturday. We had a great time in Charleston and Savannah. Here are a few shots...

Cupcakes from Cupcake

Ingredients to make 10,000 chocolate chip cookies (USS Yorktown)

Lessons Learned:

1. If someone asks you to visit their "resort" and listen to a presentation for gift certificates to restaurants, free carriage rides, and free admission to a plantation. Say no! Oh, the free stuff is legit and we got a nice meal for free and a carriage ride for free but we had to sit through a 90 MINUTE sales pitch for a time-share thingy. Totally not worth it.

2. Always, always, always bring a spare car key with you on vacation. We lost our car key somewhere in the pits of the Bass' home (or somewhere in Savannah) and had to pay to have someone make us another one.

3. Don't expect your child to come running into your arms after you've been away for a week. Rachel didn't want to come to me when Tim's mom brought her home. I almost cried until she didn't go to Tim either. Oh well, we're back to normal again.

4. Bread pudding is very yummy.

Finally, my tummy grew exceptionally while we were away. It may be due to too much yummy food and desserts.

I might sit through a 90 minute spiel for a free meal AND a carriage ride...maybe not. Those cupcakes look yummy! Looks like you had a good 5th anniversary trip despite some bumps in the road. 5 years doesn't sound very big, but if feels big, doesn't it! Definately cause to celebrate! Congratulations!!

I am trying not to be green with envy! My husband and I LOVE Charleston and Savannah! Thanks for the tip on the timeshares. We almost got sucked into one of those on our honeymoon!

Being the cheapeskate I am I would probably sit through 90 minutes for all the free stuff. Anywho, congratulations! I'm glad you got to go away before #2 gets here! Oh, and you need to post a belly pic so we can all see how grossly cute you are.
